la boule rouge

This weekend The RedBall Project begins it's nearly
month long stay in Chicago. The RedBall was created
by artist Kurt Perschke as a commission in St. Louis
in 2001. Since then, the project has bounced it's way
around the globe, wedging itself in the small corners
of Busan, Sydney, Barcelona, Portland and others.
The artist grew up in the Chicago area and wanted to
bring it here to see how the people of this city interact
with the sculpture. You can find the schedule
and all locations here. Thanks Jessica!

The subtle humor in these ceramic tiles might be a little too much for
project work, but these Pun Tiles from Ascot Studio are very fun.
They come in different text 'sets', 2 sizes and 5 colors. Made in
Sassoulo Italy, they are available in the states through Stone Tile.

Courtesy of Marc Teer, check out Dezeen's Top Ten Interiors
list! It is a round-up of the site's top ten most viewed stories
since the online mag started. The list has the likes of the
Phillip Lim store in Toyko and NYU Philosophy Building.

Once you're done with the list, check out the rest of their
site!

Jason Hall sent over this link to supermarkethq.com. Similar to
Etsy.com, supermarket will suck your time like you never had it
in the first place. But, you'll come out of it much cooler cause you
bought some really great stuff!

Flickr user Brittnybadger has a great photo set of appliances that
she'd taken apart and laid out in a meticulous manner. This was
part of her thesis project at school: "...I took apart used
cooking/cleaning appliances, and arranged their interior parts
very systematically on a white sheet of bristol board. My intention
was to explore the hidden 'brains' of these appliances; allowing
us to view these everyday objects from a new perspective."

I came across this great page of vintage door hangers - of the hotel 'do not disturb' variety.

sign language

This carpark in Melbourne Austrailia has taken an interesting
approach to their wayfinding signage. Upon certain angles,
the graphics are perfectly legible and in others, ah not so much.
Accident inducing or good idea?
