Been meaning to post this for weeks...British arItalictist
Stephen Wiltshire has the amazing ability to draw
an entire panoramic city skyline from memory.
After just 20 minutes in a helicoper, Wiltshire has
soaked up enough of Manhattan and Brooklyn to
draw in incredible detail. Stephen was diagnosed
autistic at age 3 and has had a talent for drawing since
a young age. New York is the final installment in a series
that includes Tokyo, London and Rome.

use it or lose it

Artist Henrique Oliviera takes the idea of old into new to
an incredibly beautiful level.  Oliviera reuses salvaged and
peeling wood from the streets of Sao Paulo and turns them
into amazing undulating sculptures in his "Tridimensionals"
installations.

Paul Smith

He does clothes, commercial textiles and now Evian.
The bottle design is standard Paul Smith style stripes
but with a lively turn.

Check out the video where Paul talks about the bottle
design and we get a peek into his studio.

point of view

One of my most favorite things about Sundays can be
found online at The New York Times...On the Street by
Bill Cunningham.

Bill is a reporter from the Times who rides his bike around
the city scoping out the fashion trends of New Yorkers each
week.  He has a wonderful eye for and is so full of life as he
narrates his slide show (the sheer way he pronouces
"marvelous" is well, marvelous) The 80-year old still shoots
with film and is on his bike snow sleet rain or shine. Read
more about him here and be sure to check out
"On the Street" on Sunday.

This week's installation here.

you are what you eat

(italy: basil, pasta and tomatoes)

(greece: olives and feta)

(india - curry, rice and pappadum)

These flags were created for the Sydney International Food Festival
by WHYBIN ad agency. Each country's flag is made up of food that
it's people known for eating. Looks delicious.

Wow, that is a pretty face plate. Trufig, based in Southern California,
won a CEDIA Manufacturer's Excellence Award for this beautiful
flush mount faceplate line. The system can be used with Crestron, AMX
or Lutron components. See more here.

Ryue Nishazawa's take on a gallery in Japan
certainly makes a statement among the other
storefronts. (via spoon&tomago)
